Weather Policies & Outdoor Play
Outdoor Play
We try to play outside every day. If your child is not well enough to play outside, then your child is not well enough to come to school. When the weather is too cold (approximately 30° or less) or too wet, the classes will have time for large motor activity in our indoor play area, which the children call "The Big Room". The same is true when the weather is too hot (over 100°).
Dress for Play
Please dress your child in play clothes. Dressy clothes may get messed up or ruined when we do creative projects. Shoes should be appropriate for climbing, running, and play activities. No sandals, please. In winter weather, we go outside to play, so make sure your child is equipped with appropriate winter clothing: long pants, boots, hat, mittens, jacket.
