Indoor Play
12 months-6 years
As we all know, Colorado weather can be unpredictable. To ensure children always have opportunities for movement and exploration, even during inclement weather, our school offers several indoor play areas outside of the classroom. These include two spacious multipurpose rooms and a cozy library area. Children ages 12 months and up are welcome to enjoy these inviting spaces, which provide a refreshing change of scenery and support continued development through play, creativity, and social interaction throughout the day.
The Big Room
Large Gross Motor for ages 12 months-6 years
The Big Room is the largest multipurpose space in our building and is widely used throughout the school. It serves as a valuable resource during inclement weather, during after-care when group sizes are smaller and classrooms begin to combine, or simply when children need to release extra energy outside of their typical environment. Classrooms are strongly encouraged to utilize this space to support the development of gross motor skills, independence, creativity, and socialization in a fun and flexible setting.
Little Einstein's
Large Gross Motor for ages 12 months-36 months
The Little Einstein’s Room is a smaller multipurpose space designed specifically with our younger children in mind. Like the Big Room, it is used during inclement weather and after-care hours, but it offers a more developmentally appropriate environment for children who are still building foundational gross motor skills. This space provides a calmer, more contained setting with smaller-scale play equipment, allowing younger children to feel safe and confident as they explore, climb, and interact. It also offers a quieter alternative for children who thrive in less stimulating environments.
Library
Social Emotional Area for ages 12 months-6 years
Our cozy Library is a quiet, welcoming space available to children ages 12 months and up. It offers a calm environment where children can explore books, engage in imaginative play, or simply take a break from more active areas of the school. Soft seating, age-appropriate books, and calming sensory materials help create a peaceful atmosphere that supports early literacy, self-regulation, and a love for reading. Teachers are encouraged to utilize the Library as a tool for small group story times, one-on-one reading, or quiet reflection throughout the day.
