Talented Turtles
Preschool: 30 months-36 months
Our Talented Turtles children are developing rapidly in all areas—socially, emotionally, cognitively, and physically. Our classroom is designed to support this exciting period of growth with a balance of structured learning experiences and open-ended play. Our goal is to help each child strengthen their skills while feeling confident, capable, and connected. In the Talented Turtles classroom, children continue to refine language skills, forming more complex sentences, asking questions, and engaging in rich conversations with both peers and teachers. We focus on expanding early literacy and math skills through activities like storytelling, singing songs, recognizing letters and numbers, sorting objects, and simple counting games. As fine motor skills develop, we offer opportunities for hands-on learning with materials like crayons, scissors, puzzles, and manipulatives. Children are also strengthening gross motor abilities through movement, climbing, dancing, and outdoor play. Social-emotional growth is a big focus at this age. Our teachers guide children in cooperative play, learning to take turns, solve simple conflicts, and identify and express emotions in healthy ways. Many children at this stage are also making great strides in potty training, and we work closely with families to provide consistency and encouragement through the process. Every day in the Talented Turtles classroom is filled with discovery, creativity, and joyful learning as children build the skills they need to confidently move toward preschool and beyond.
