In the Otter class, we strive to build confidence and independence for our early learners. Our daily centers and activities focus on developing social, emotional physical and cognitive growth. Children are challenged daily by group activities such as our math problem of the day and themed based science experiments. We encourage the children to work together to problem solve, explore different solutions and find different conflict resolution skills. We explore our creative and imaginative side with our colorful art activities and by interacting with our classmates in our dramatic play and music centers. We develop literacy skills in a variety of ways including circle time, audio books and fun letter recognition games. We encourage our classmates and work closely with families as the children develop and refine new skills like potty training. Our goal is to have fun while learning and to develop confidence, life skills and friendships that will make for an easy transition to our preschool program.
